Michael Relyea and John Earle founded Las Olas Yacht Group to fill a clear void in the yachting industry. The belief that a yachting business can evolve and be something much greater has pushed the development of new strategies. John and Michael use an approach based on the premise that in order to provide better service for clients, one must be willing to do considerably more than a traditional yacht broker.
Michael Relyea owned and operated a successful business prior to building his own sailboat. When he decided to sell his vessel, Michael was disillusioned with the services, or lack thereof, that traditional brokerage firms offered. Around the same time that Michael was searching for a broker to work with, John Earle had recently started Earle Yachts. When the two met, Michael found John’s willingness to be innovative a refreshing approach to yacht sales and decided to list his boat with him. Working together they developed marketing tools and an approach never used in the yachting industry and successfully sold Michael’s exceptional sailboat. From this, Michael and John quickly recognized the need for something better in the yachting world. An idea was born and a partnership formed.
Relying on the experience John has gathered from a lifetime in the marine industry and Michael’s business and marketing acumen, LOYG is quickly rising to the top of the industry. Every Las Olas Yacht Group team member believes in the founding principles of service, innovation, and focused marketing.
